柔沛的療效
很多人在問前民進黨主席游錫堃的生髮秘訣，醫生透露原來是一種叫做「波斯卡」的藥物，他的成分和柔沛相同，只是劑量是柔沛的5倍之多，但最不一樣的是，他的用途，原來是拿來治療「攝護腺肥大」。 皮膚科醫生游鴻儒：「波斯卡最主要的功用，是有效降低毛囊裡面雄性荷爾蒙激素的量，因為雄性荷爾蒙跟毛囊髮根結合在一起，會使毛囊萎縮，那有效降低雄性荷爾蒙，毛囊不會萎縮，頭髮就會正常的長出來。」但用在行政院長蘇貞昌的情況，可能效果有限。游鴻儒：「中後期之前的都可以吃，都有效，但是比如說後期，頂上幾乎沒有毛囊存在的，再吃也有限啦。」 (引用自http://www.tvbs.com.tw/news/news_list.asp?no=lili20060427192630)
柔沛(Propecia) 的成分"finasteride"是一種5α- 還原脢抑制，可以一部分減少DHT的產生量，從而減少毛囊枯萎的速度，讓部分毛囊再生新髮。根據一九九八年四月初發表，兩年的臨床試驗報告：對"頭頂禿"約百分之八十三的人會停止掉髮或增加髮量，其中只有百分之五大幅度的改善。但對前額禿的人效果就差多了，第一年的效果，一平方公分只增加 10~11根頭髮；第二年則差不多不再增加，改善不大(正常髮量一平方公分約120~200根毛髮)。 •柔沛: (主要藥物Finasteride) 主要是用來治療男性攝護腺肥大症,而且需要至少服用6個月以上,可能會有肝功能方面的考量,女性要避免使用,會致畸胎。
